The Figurative and Representational Artist Group
Qualifying the terms ‘Figurative and Representational’
The terms, ‘Figurative and Representational’ are meant to be taken as descriptive of
the nature of the language used to create the work. This means that the work on
display must demonstrate a marked resemblance to the ‘object’ observed and must
also be the result of each, individual artist’s direct skill. The only binding criterion for
exhibiting with our group is a demonstrable commitment towards “figurative and
representational” art in the work on display. (This does not mean that the same
artists cannot exhibit other forms of art elsewhere if they so choose; they are, of
course, entirely free to do so).
